Before work commences in conduit system maintenance holes, the Bidder must follow industry standards and WA State Regulations (WAC 296-809 – Confined Spaces) for atmospheric testing, ventilation, barricading and signage of each manhole that will be entered by the Bidder as applicable.
Effective June 29, 2001, employees who go underground as part of the Confined Spaces Team shall receive one (1) dollar per hour for hours paid, as defined below.

The purpose is to prevent or reduce the consequences of Incidents related to planning, preparing, executing and supporting Confined Space Work including Gas Confined Space Entry This section applies to work in Confined Spaces.

The permits are to include but not be limited to:- Restricted Areas Confined Spaces Roof Access Fire Alarm / Extinguishment Isolation HV Working Hot Working Pressure Vessels Live Working will not be allowed on HV/LV installations The Contractor’s Operatives, Visitors and Subcontractors will comply strictly with the conditions imposed by Permits to Work.
For all work within Confined Spaces, comply with all OSHA, state, and local Jurisdictional Authority rules and regulations for confined spaces defined by 29 CFR §1910.146.
