Contactless Transaction definition

Contactless Transaction means a Transaction that is authorised by you touching or holding your Card or linked device against or near a POS Terminal without the need to insert your Card.

Contactless Transaction means the authorisation of a transaction by presenting a card (which is capable of performing a contactless transaction) at a contactless terminal without the requirement to insert or swipe the card.

Contactless Transaction means a transaction that is authorised by you touching or holding your Debit Card or linked device against or near a Point-of-Sale (POS) Terminal without the need to insert your Card or enter your PIN.

Examples of Contactless Transaction in a sentence

• For purchases of value up to €50 the Cardholder does not need to enter the PIN (PIN-free Contactless Transaction Limit)1.

• All Contactless Transaction will be deemed to have properly authorized by the Cardholder unless the Cardholder can show conclusive proof of the contrary.

• When making a payment using your Card or Device by way of a Contactless Transaction you must place your Card or Device against the reader in the Outlet.

Contactless Transaction means a transaction completed through a method of payment whereby sums, not exceeding an amount per transaction (as specified by the Bank from time to time on the Website) and where the number of consecutive transactions does not exceed a particular number (as specified by the Bank from time to time on the Website), may be paid by the Cardholder to a Retailer by holding the Card to the front of a POS (Point of Sale) Terminal rather than the payment being made through use of the Chip and PIN at the POS (Point of Sale) Terminal.
