Deepwater Horizon Incident definition

Deepwater Horizon Incident means the subsea blowout and resulting oil spill at the Macondo well site in the GoM in April 2010 and subsequent sinking of the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig;
Deepwater Horizon Incident means the following, all through the date of lodging of this Consent Decree: all discharges of hydrocarbons or other substances from the Deepwater Horizon mobile offshore drilling unit and/or the Macondo Well occurring on or after April 20, 2010, the explosion and fire on the Deepwater Horizon, the loss of the Deepwater Horizon, containment efforts related to the Macondo Well, construction of the relief wells within the meaning of the Macondo Well, and clean-up and remediation efforts, and all other responsive actions in connection with the foregoing events.

Deepwater Horizon Incident means the events leading to and including the blowout of the “Macondo” exploratory well and the explosion on the Deepwater Horizon oil rig in the Gulf of Mexico on April 20, 2010, the sinking of the Deepwater Horizon on April 22, 2010, the release of oil and other substances from the “Macondo” exploratory well and the Deepwater Horizon into the Gulf of Mexico, and all events, actions, and/or omissions related thereto.
Deepwater Horizon Incident and “Incident” shall mean the loss of control of the MC252 Well and the fire and explosion(s) on board, and resulting sinking of, Transocean’s Deepwater Horizon rig, in addition to the resulting oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
