Following any Security Incident, the Contractor will consult in good faith with the Authority regarding Remediation Efforts that may be necessary and reasonable.
Populated upland areas are confined to the perimeter of the Barataria Basin, accounting for 22.7 percent of the total basin area, of which 10 percent is urbanized and 90 percent is in various forms of agriculture, mostly sugarcane farming (43.7 percent) (Lane & DeLaune, 2015).
The Contractor will (i) at the Authority’s direction undertake Remediation Efforts at the Contractor’s sole expense and reimburse the Authority for its reasonable costs and expenses in connection with any Remediation Efforts it elects to undertake, (ii) ensure that such Remediation Efforts provide for, without limitation, prevention of the recurrence of the same type of Security Incident, and (iii) reasonably cooperate with any Remediation Efforts undertaken by the Authority.
