Dread Disease definition

Dread Disease means the Principal Insured being diagnosed with either breast cancer, ovarian cancer, fallopian tube cancer, cervical cancer, uterine cancer, vaginal cancer or vulvarcancer after the Commencement Date and Waiting Period, which means a first positive diagnosis of a malignant tumour or lobular carcinoma in one or both breasts, or cancerous or malignant cells found in one or both ovaries, one or both fallopian tubes, the cervix, the uterus, the vagina or the vulva of the Principal Insured (excluding skin cancer) in situ by a Doctor; Where the Women’s Only Plus (Spouse) option has been elected and where the additional premium has been paid, Dread Disease means the Spouse being diagnosed with either prostate cancer or testicular cancer after the Commencement Date and Waiting Period, which means a first positive diagnosis of growing malignant cells within the prostate glands or within one or both testicles of the Spouse (excluding skin cancer) in situ by a Doctor;

Examples of Dread Disease in a sentence

  • Dread Disease Benefit shall apply in respect of the following list of conditions and qualifying criteria.

  • On the date that the claim for the Dread Disease benefit is accepted, there will be no further Dread Disease cover.

  • Upon exhaustion of the Dread Disease Benefit, the beneficiary shall neither be eligible to access the Annual Overall Benefit nor qualify for Ex - gratia award.

  • The Dread Disease Cover is available to members of the Executive and De-luxe Benefit Options.

  • The Dread Disease Cover annual limit is P500 000 per family for the Deluxe Option.

Dread Disease means specifically defined critical, prohibitive cost conditions that may influence the longevity of life. The terms of this policy specify only the following conditions as Dread Diseases: heart attack, coronary artery disease requiring surgery, heart valve replacement, aorta surgery, stroke, cancer, acute kidney failure, brain tumors and major organ transplants.
Dread Disease means a dread disease as defined in the POLICY and shall, without in any way limiting or derogating from the generality of such definition, entail the following contingent events: (a) Heart Attack(b) Coronary Artery Surgery(c) Stroke(d) Cancer(e) Kidney Failure(f) Paraplegia(g) Major Organ Transplant(h) Blindness(i) Major Burns(j) Coma(k) Multiple Sclerosis
Dread Disease means in respect of the Dread Disease Benefits in terms of the Dread Disease and Personal Accident Policy and the Basic Needs Benefit Policy, the medical occurrence(s) and/or condition(s) contracted, experienced or suffered by the Policyholder as described in Annexe E.3 in terms of the Dread Disease Categories, diagnosed by a Medical Practitioner, as set out in a Medical Report;
Dread Disease expense means reasonable and customary charges for all medically necessary treatment and services provided by or on the order of a physician to the insured person, on acquiring a dread disease as defined herein, during the policy period and diagnosed during the same period.
Dread Disease expense means all medically necessary treatment (including initial diagnosis tests and investigations) and services provided by or on the order of a specialist physician to the insured person, on acquiring a dread disease.
