Expedited Appeal definition

Expedited Appeal means if a Member appeals a decision regarding a denied request for Prior Authorization (Pre-Service Claim) for an Urgent Care Claim, the Member or Member’s Authorized Representative can request an Expedited Appeal, either orally or in writing. Decisions regarding an Expedited Appeal are generally made within seventy-two (72) hours from the Plan’s receipt of the request.
Expedited Appeal means the process by which a dismissed student may file an appeal on an expedited basis, thereby retaining the right to continue to attend classes, among other things, pending the resolution of such appeal, as more particularly described in Section IV.J of these by-laws.

Examples of Expedited Appeal in a sentence

  • The request may be simultaneously filed with a request for an internal Expedited Appeal, since the Independent Review Organization assigned to conduct the expedited external review will determine whether the request is eligible for an external review at the time of receipt.

  • The Independent Review Organization shall reject a request for review and notify you, your Authorized Representative and the Appeals Coordinator in writing within five (5) business days (or within 72 hours for an Expedited Appeal) of its determination, if it determines that the appeal does meet the standards for an appeal for external review.

Expedited Appeal means an appeal to the HMO in which the decision is required quickly based on the Member's health status, and the amount of time necessary to participate in a standard appeal could jeopardize the Member's life or health or ability to attain, maintain, or regain maximum function.
