HAZARDOUS WASTE VENDOR definition

HAZARDOUS WASTE VENDOR shall be defined as the vendor selected by the COUNTY to perform hazardous waste collection services on behalf of participating municipalities. The HAZARDOUS WASTE VENDOR will conduct and oversee household hazardous waste collection events throughout northern Oakland County. The vendor will be responsible for all core operations at each event including receiving and handling of household hazardous wastes, waste characterization, manifestation and ultimate disposition of materials collected. The vendor will assume all liability for ACCEPTABLE HAZARDOUS WASTE once collected.

  • Hazardous Waste means the substances regulated as such pursuant to any Environmental Law.

  • Hazardous Wastes means all waste materials subject to regulation under CERCLA, RCRA or applicable state law, and any other applicable Federal and state laws now in force or hereafter enacted relating to hazardous waste disposal.

  • Toxic Substance includes but is not limited to asbestos, polychlorinated biphenyls (PCBs) and lead-based paints.

  • Hazardous Substance means any chemical, pollutant, waste or substance that is (a) listed, classified or regulated under any Environmental Law as hazardous substance, toxic substance, pollutant, contaminant or oil or (b) any petroleum product or by product, asbestos containing material, polychlorinated biphenyls or radioactive material.

  • Environmental, Health and Safety Laws means the Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation and Liability Act of 1980, the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act of 1976, and the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, each as amended, together with all other laws (including rules, regulations, codes, plans, injunctions, judgments, orders, decrees, rulings, and charges thereunder) of federal, state, local, and foreign governments (and all agencies thereof) concerning pollution or protection of the environment, public health and safety, or employee health and safety, including laws relating to emissions, discharges, releases, or threatened releases of pollutants, contaminants, or chemical, industrial, hazardous, or toxic materials or wastes into ambient air, surface water, ground water, or lands or otherwise relating to the manufacture, processing, distribution, use, treatment, storage, disposal, transport, or handling of pollutants, contaminants, or chemical, industrial, hazardous, or toxic materials or wastes.

  • Gaseous pollutants means the exhaust gas emissions of carbon monoxide, oxides of nitrogen expressed in nitrogen dioxide (NO2) equivalent and hydrocarbons assuming ratio of:

  • Universal waste transporter means a person engaged in the off-site transportation of universal waste by air, rail, highway, or water.

  • Hazardous Substance Activity Any storage, holding, disposal, leaching, existence, use, release, migration, emission, discharge, generation, processing, abatement, removal, repair, cleanup or detoxification, disposition, handling or transportation of any Hazardous Substance from, under, into, on or about the Property.
