Health and welfare benefit definition

Health and welfare benefit means any one or more of the following: hospital, medical, surgical, disability, legal expense or related benefits including, but not limited to, medical, dental, life, legal expense, and income protection insurance or benefits, whether provided on an insurance or a service basis, and includes group life insurance as defined.)
Health and welfare benefit means a medical, prescription drug, or dental benefit, including a premium subsidy for the same, which is considered a post-retirement benefit other than pension under GASB 43 and/or GASB 45. Such a benefit is limited to medical care expenses, including premium subsidies as defined by IRC Section 213(d), which have been approved by the City Council.
Health and welfare benefit means any benefit, premium, and/or payment made in connection with the provision of employee benefits as defined in O.C.G.A. § 47-5-2(7), including, but not limited to, medical, prescription, drug, dental, life, disability and accidental death and dismemberment benefits.

  • Health insurance plan means any health insurance policy or health benefit plan offered by a health insurer or a subcontractor of a health insurer, as well as Medicaid and any other public health care assistance program offered or administered by the State or by any subdivision or instrumentality of the State. The term includes vision care plans but does not include policies or plans providing coverage for a specified disease or other limited benefit coverage.
