immigration officer means any person who is an immigration officer as defined in section 2 of the Immigration Act [Chapter 4:02];
Immigrant means a person who enters the country with the expectation of legally residing in the United States of America rather than returning to the person’s country of origin.
Orientation means any introductory instruction into a new practice environment or employment situation where being a nurse is a requirement of employment or where the individual uses any title or abbreviation indicating that the individual is a nurse. Orientation is considered the practice of nursing in this State.
Group Grievance is defined as a single grievance, signed by a Xxxxxxx or a Union Representative on behalf of a group of employee who have the same complaint. Such grievances must be dealt with at successive stages of the Grievance Procedure commencing with Step 1. The grievors shall be listed on the grievance form.
Safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children means: • Protecting children from maltreatment• Preventing impairment of children’s mental or physical health or development• Ensuring that children grow up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care• Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes
Community health worker means an individual who:
Level VI Status exists at any date if, on such date, the Borrower has not qualified for Level I Status, Level II Status, Level III Status, Level IV Status or Level V Status.
Internship means the practical, experiential, hands-on
Volunteer worker means a person who is not your "employee", and who donates his or her work and acts at the direction of and within the scope of duties determined by you, and is not paid a fee, salary or other compensation by you or anyone else for their work performed for you.
A grievance means a dispute or disagreement as to the interpretation or application of terms and conditions of employment contained in this Agreement.
Workplace Harassment means engaging in a course of vexatious comment or conduct against a worker in a workplace that is known or ought reasonably to be known to be unwelcome”. Ref: Occupational Health and Safety Act, Sec. 1
New employee orientation means the onboarding process of a newly hired public employee, whether in person, online, or through other means or mediums, in which employees are advised of their employment status, rights, benefits, duties and responsibilities, or any other employment-related matters.
Level V Status exists at any date if, on such date, the Borrower has not qualified for Level I Status, Level II Status, Level III Status or Level IV Status.
Personal Grievance means a claim that an employee: (a) Has been unjustifiably dismissed; or (b) has had his/her employment, or his/her conditions of employment, affected to (c) his/her disadvantage by some unjustifiable action by the employer; or (d) has been discriminated against in his/her employment; or (e) has been sexually harassed in his/her employment; or (f) has been racially harassed in his/her employment; or (g) has been subjected to duress in relation to union membership.
Shift Worker means a worker who is not a day worker as defined.
Cultural Competency means the ability to recognize, respect, and address the unique needs, worth, thoughts, communications, actions, customs, beliefs and values that reflect an individual’s racial, ethnic, religious, sexual orientation, and/or social group.
Cultural Competence or "culturally competent" means the ability to recognize and respond to health-related beliefs and cultur- al values, disease incidence and prevalence, and treatment efficacy. Examples of culturally competent care include striving to overcome cultural, language, and communications barriers, providing an environ- ment in which individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds feel com- fortable discussing their cultural health beliefs and practices in the context of negotiating treatment options, encouraging individuals to express their spiritual beliefs and cultural practices, and being fa- miliar with and respectful of various traditional healing systems and beliefs and, where appropriate, integrating these approaches into treatment plans.
Participating Certified Nurse Practitioner means a Certified Nurse Practitioner who has a written agreement with the Claim Administrator or another Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Plan to provide services to you at the time services are rendered.
Behavioral violation means a student’s behavior that violates the district’s discipline policies.
Policy Grievance shall be signed by a xxxxxxx or a Union representative or, in the case of an Employer's policy grievance, by the Employer or its representative.
Non-Participating Certified Nurse Practitioner means a Certified Nurse Practitioner who does not have a written agreement with the Claim Administrator or another Blue Cross and/or Blue Shield Plan to provide services to you at the time services are rendered.
Formal complaint means a document filed by a complainant or signed by the Title IX Coordinator alleging sexual harassment against a respondent and requesting an investigation of the allegation of sexual harassment.
Bona fide physician-patient relationship means a treatment or counseling relationship between a physician and patient in which all of the following are present:
Contractor employee means prime Contractor and subcontractor employees who require agency access to perform work under a CMS contract.
Environmental Complaint shall have the meaning set forth in Section 4.19(d) hereof.
