When School District No. 63 (Saanich) began the process of creating the first Education Enhancement Agreement, the initial conversations were with the W̱SÁNEĆ School Board through the Local Education Agreement (LEA).
The Band and the Board agree on the philosophy of “making a difference by working together.” The Local Education Agreement will be developed and implemented based on the values of mutual respect, consensus building, and maintaining a focus on the goal of academic and personal success for Nominal Roll students.
The relationship has evolved, over the years, through mutual respect and collaboration in support of the W̱SÁNEĆ people and also through the development and implementation of the Local Education Agreement (LEA) signed by both parties in 1993, and renewed in 1997, 2002 and 2018.
