Net metered facility definition
Net metered facility means an electric generation facility constructed for the purpose of offsetting energy use through the use of renewable energy or high-efficiency distributed generation sources.
Net metered facility means a Distributed Generation Facility that participates in net metering (as defined in R.I.G.L. § 39-26.2-2) pursuant to R.I.G.L. Chapter 26.2.
Net metered facility means an electricity generation system owned or operated by a Customer-Generator which is located on the Customer-Generator’s side of the meter; powered by a Renewable Energy Resource; is located on the premises owned, operated, leased, or otherwise controlled by the Customer-Generator; is interconnected and operates in parallel phase and synchronization with the Company and is in compliance with the standards established by the Company; is intended primarily to offset part or all of the Customer-Generator’s own electrical energy requirements; and, contains a mechanism, approved by Empire, that automatically disables the generation system and interrupts the flow of electricity back onto Empire’s lines in the event that service to the Customer-Generator is interrupted.
