Paid safe time definition

Paid safe time and/or “paid safe days” shall mean accrued hours of paid leave provided by an employer for use by an employee for an absence from work for any of the reasons specified in SMC 14.16.030(A)(2), for which time an employee shall be compensated at the same hourly rate and with the same benefits, including health care benefits, as the employee would have earned during the time the paid leave is taken.
