public holiday means any day that is a public holiday in terms of the Public Holiday Act, 1994 (Act No. 36 of 1994);

Examples of public holiday in a sentence

  • Where the day that is a Public Holiday for them is a rostered day off, then subject to 10.8, the employee will be granted one Alternative Holiday in respect of the public holiday but will not receive any payment for the Public Holiday.

  • Where the day that is a Public Holiday for them is a rostered day off, then subject to 16.8, the employee will be granted one Alternative Holiday in respect of the public holiday, but will not receive any payment for the Public Holiday.
