Qualified Medical Child Support Order definition

Qualified Medical Child Support Order means a Medical Child Support Order which creates (including assignment of rights) or recognizes an Alternate Recipient's right to receive benefits to which a Participant or Qualified Beneficiary is eligible under this Plan, and has been determined by the Plan Administrator to meet the qualification requirements as outlined under “Procedures” of this provision.
Qualified Medical Child Support Order or “QMCSO” shall mean a Medical Child Support Order, in accordance with applicable law, and which creates or recognizes the existence of an Alternate Recipient’s right to, or assigns to an Alternate Recipient the right to, receive benefits for which a Participant or eligible Dependent is entitled under this Plan.
Qualified Medical Child Support Order means an order that creates or recognizes the existence of a child's right to health benefits under the Plan and must be in the form of a judgment, decree, or order (including a settlement agreement approved by the court) issued by a court (or state administrative agency with jurisdiction) that is deciding the child support issues in a divorce or other family law action. A Qualified Medical Child Support Order must clearly specify:

Examples of Qualified Medical Child Support Order in a sentence

  • A child who would otherwise meet the eligibility requirements and is required to be covered by a Qualified Medical Child Support Order (QMCSO) is considered an eligible dependent.

  • Your employer is responsible for determining if an order meets the criteria of a Qualified Medical Child Support Order.

  • A child for whom healthcare coverage is required through a Qualified Medical Child Support Order or other court or administrative order is also eligible for coverage.

  • Each of your and your spouse’s children is eligible for coverage as ordered by a Qualified Medical Child Support Order (“QMCSO”) or until the first day of the month following their 26th birthday.
