• The World Bank has 10 + 2 Safeguard Policies to reduce or eliminate the negative environmental and social impacts of potential projects, and improve decision making.

• Generally, the objective of the World Bank's Environmental and Social Safeguard Policies is to prevent and mitigate undue harm to people and their environment in the development process.

• As Myanmar legislative framework is expected to continue developing throughout the life of the Project, appropriate gap analysis will be carried out to fill the possible gaps between National Regulation and World Bank Group Safeguard Policies.
