Significant Industrial Users definition

Significant Industrial Users means the same as in 40 CFR 403.3(t).
Significant Industrial Users means any industrial user who (i) discharges to the Local Sewer System 25,000 GPD or more of Wastewater that is generated by industrial processes and/or those facilities whose Wastewater discharges are subject to the national categorical pretreatment standards, (ii) contributes Wastewater that makes up five (5) percent or more of the dry weather hydraulic or organic capacity of the Local Sewer System, or (iii) has a reasonable potential, in the opinion of the CCUD, to adversely affect the City System. Significant Industrial Users must obtain a permit issued by the CCUD Industrial Pretreatment Program for Wastewater discharges to the Local Sewer System.
Significant Industrial Users means one which will contribute greater than ten percent (10%) of the design flow or design pollutant loading of the treatment works. (2) The definitions found in chapter 3, § 8-302 of this title shall apply

Examples of Significant Industrial Users in a sentence

  • Significant Industrial Users (SIU) in the BPSA must obtain a pretreatment permit from DC Water, Fairfax, or WSSC, unless the SIUs are regulated through Limited Party Agreements with Non-Party Users or Indirect Users.

  • Identify and regulate Significant Industrial Users (SIUs) and non-significant Industrial Users (IUs) who introduce pollutants into a POTW without an approved pretreatment program.

  • The Enforcement Screening Criteria (as described above) and a data model will be utilized to determine the list of Significant Industrial Users.

  • All existing Significant Industrial Users shall complete such a plan within six (6) months of the effective date of this Resolution.

  • All Significant Industrial Users proposing to connect to or to contribute to the Sewer System shall obtain a Wastewater Contribution Permit before connecting to or contributing to the Sewer System.

  • Incorporation of applicable Pretreatment Standards, including prohibited discharges and categorical standards and requirements, local limitations, State standards, and industrial monitoring and reporting requirements set forth at 40 CFR § 403.12, into permits issued to Significant Industrial Users not regulated by approved POTW pretreatment programs.
