SPUR ROAD. SPECIFICATIONS: Temporary spur roads are defined as any roads constructed by the Purchaser to access a harvest unit or landing which is not an existing road and may not be shown as a required road to be constructed in Table B-1. All temporary roads will be constructed to the following specifications: 1. Forest Officer shall approve the location prior to any construction. 2. Clearing and excavation shall be kept to the absolute minimum for safe truck hauling and to prevent erosion and water quality impacts. Some sidehill excavation, minor through cuts, ditching and turnpiking may be required. 3. Temporary culverts may be required at ditch crossings, wet areas or other locations as directed by the Forest Officer. 4. Temporary erosion control measures may be required to meet BMP standards on the road and/or the landing area while being used. 5. At the completion of use the road shall be shaped back to natural contours, temporary culverts removed, erosion control measures installed, the disturbed areas grass seeded and the access closed to all vehicular traffic. The Forest Officer may require scarification or ripping of compacted landings and temporary spur roads.
