Sustained finding means a determination by an employing
Sustained finding means a final determination by an investigating agency, commission, board, hearing officer, or arbitrator following an investigation and opportunity for an administrative appeal pursuant to Government Code sections 3304 and 3304.5, or equivalent processes, that the actions of a peace officer were found to violate law or department policy.

Sustained finding means a determination by an employing law enforcement unit that a law enforcement officer violated a law; regulation; directive, guideline, policy, or procedure issued by the Attorney General or County Prosecutor; agency protocol; standing operating procedure; rule; or training protocol.
