the Area means the area for which for the time being the Appointee holds the appointment as water undertaker or, as the case may be, sewerage undertaker;
the staff means all the staff who have a contract of employment with the institution;
the Academy means the school referred to in Article 4 and established by the Academy Trust;
the FCA means the Financial Conduct Authority;
the Developer (“y datblygwr”) means the person carrying out the development for which the planning permission has been given;
the Port means a new port to be established in implementation of proposals made by the Joint Venturers pursuant to Clause 7 whether the same be established by the Joint Venturers exclusively or by them in conjunction with another or others (including the State) and should no such new port be established the term means any existing port developed or used by the Joint Venturers for the purposes of this Agreement by arrangement with another or others (including the State) and in either case the term extends to and includes as well as the land upon which the Joint Venturers’ wharf is erected also the adjacent land serving the Joint Venturers’ wharf and the adjacent land on which it is proposed to locate or on which could be located or in fact is located secondary and tertiary processing plants crushing grinding and screening facilities stockpiling yards electric power generating plant petroleum storage and other ancillary facilities;
the Fund means moneys made available from time to time by the Secretary of State for the benefit of persons eligible for payment in accordance with the provisions of a scheme established by him on 24th April 1992 or, in Scotland, on 10th April 1992;
The Contractor means the individual or firm or company whether incorporate not, undertaking the works and shall include legal personal representative of individual or the composing the firm or company and the permitted assignees of individual or firms of company.
the 1965 Act means the Compulsory Purchase Act 1965(2);
The Union means USW Local 2010 representing the Bargaining Unit as defined in Article 2: “Recognition and Scope”.

The FA means The Football Association Limited.
the data importer means the processor who agrees to receive from the data exporter personal data intended for processing on his behalf after the transfer in accordance with his instructions and the terms of the Clauses and who is not subject to a third country's system ensuring adequate protection within the meaning of Article 25(1) of Directive 95/46/EC;
the State means the Karnataka State
the 1961 Act means the Land Compensation Act 1961(d); “the 1965 Act” means the Compulsory Purchase Act 1965(e); “the 1980 Act” means the Highways Act 1980(f);
Shorelands or "shoreland areas" means those lands extending landward for two hundred feet in all directions as measured on a horizontal plane from the ordinary high water mark; floodways and contiguous floodplain areas landward two hundred feet from such floodways; and all wetlands and river deltas associated with the streams, lakes, and tidal waters which are subject to the provisions of this chapter; the same to be designated as to location by the department of ecology.
