Vacation Schedules. ‌ (a) Employees shall submit their vacation requests to their supervisor on or before: (1) November 1st for the period January 1st through April 30th and (2) March 1st for the period May 1st through December 31st. The Employer shall respond to employee vacation requests in writing within 14 days of the dates outlined above. (b) An employee who does not exercise his/her seniority rights by the cutoff dates stipulated above, shall not be entitled to exercise those rights in respect to any vacation time previously selected by an employee with less seniority. (c) Vacation schedules, once posted, shall not be changed except in cases of emergency with the mutual agreement of the Employer and employee.

(c) An employee who relocates to another work location where the vacation schedule has already been completed will not be entitled to exercise her seniority rights for that year only. However, every effort will be made to grant vacation at the time of the employee's choice.

Vacation Schedules. Vacation schedules shall be arranged by department heads with particular regard to the needs of the service, and whenever possible, with regard to the wishes of the employee. Every effort shall be made to arrange vacation schedules so that each employee will take as much vacation in each year as accrues to the employee in that year. Each employee's vacation time may be so divided as the needs of the service require or permit. No employee may take vacation without advance approval of the department head or designee. No employee may take vacation leave in advance of that actually accumulated at the time such leave is taken.

Vacation Schedules. Employees shall indicate their vacation preferences by April 1st. Vacation schedules shall be posted by May 1st of each year and shall not be changed unless mutually agreed to by the employee and the Employer. Where an employee chooses to take vacation in an unbroken block, the employee's vacation may commence immediately following an employee's regularly scheduled days off.
Vacation Schedules. Every reasonable effort shall be made to grant vacation at the times requested by the supervisor. The Appointing Authority agrees to respond in a reasonable time to supervisors' requests for vacation. However, if an early response date is needed by the supervisor, it shall be so stated on the request form and responded to by the Appointing Authority in writing. If the nature of the work makes it necessary to limit the number of supervisors on vacation at the same time, vacation schedules shall be established on the basis of Classification Seniority within a work location in the event of any conflict over vacation periods. Except in emergencies, as determined by the Appointing Authority, no supervisor will be required to work during the supervisor's vacation once the vacation request has been approved.
