Winter Sports definition

Winter Sports means skiing (including skiing outside the area of the normal compacted snow or ice slope i.e. off-piste but only whilst accompanied by a guide or ski instructor), tobogganing, snowboarding and ice skating (other than on an indoor rink), but excluding competitive winter sports (including, but not limited to ski or bob racing, mono skiing, ski jumping, ski boarding, ice hockey, or the use of bobsleighs or skeletons). PLEASE NOTE that Specific Definitions relevant to the individual Sections of this Policy are located and contained in the appropriate Section.
Winter Sports means: 17.8 We will only pay in excess of any insurance which is included in the rental agreement or any other insurance that You hold which covers the same incident. 17.9 Claims made against You by Your Relatives, any Cardholders on Your account and their Relatives, or any passengers or anyone who works for You. 17.10 Mopeds and motorbikes, commercial vehicles, trucks, motor homes and vehicles not licensed for road use including but not limited to trailers and caravans. 17.11 Vehicles used off-road, in or in training for racing competitions, trials rallies or speed testing. 17.12 Loss and/or damage to vintage cars over 20 years old, or cars that have not been manufactured for at least 10 years. 17.13 Loss and/or damage resulting from failure of any person to observe the maintenance and operating instructions supplied with the Rental Vehicle. 17.14 Loss and/or damage caused by wear and tear, insects or vermin. 17.15 Loss and/or damage arising from the Rental Vehicle being employed for a purpose other than that stated in the rental agreement. 17.16 Any costs where You admit liability, negotiate, make and promise or agree any settlement. 17.17 Any fines and punitive damages. 17.18 Anything mentioned in the General Exclusions.
Winter Sports means any winter pursuits or sports including, but not limited to, the following:• skiing (including skiing outside the area of the normal compacted snow ski slope i.e. ‘off-piste’);• tobogganing;• snowboarding;• ice skating (other than on an indoor rink);• ski or skibob racing;• monoskiing;• ski jumping;• skiboarding;• ice hockey; or• the use of bobsleighs or skeletons.General ExclusionsThe following General Exclusions are applicable to the Policy as a whole.1. Chubb shall not cover any claim arising under this Policy arising out of any trip in, to or through Cuba.2. Chubb shall not be liable for payment of any benefit for Bodily Injury, loss or expense incurred whilst an Insured Person is under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs other than drugs taken in accordance with treatment prescribed and directed by a Qualified Medical Practitioner but not for the treatment of drug addiction.3. Chubb shall not be liable for payment of any benefit for Bodily Injury, loss or expense due to:

Examples of Winter Sports in a sentence

  • Any loss or theft of Your ski-pass or Winter Sports Equipment which is subsequently recovered.

  • Any claim if Your ski-pass or Winter Sports Equipment is confiscated or detained by Customs, the Police, the resort or other authorities.

  • The Policy will NOT automatically cover You when You take part in all Winter Sports.

  • Claims for Winter Sports Equipment will be considered on a new for old basis provided the item is less than 1 year old at the date of the incident.

  • This section only applies if the appropriate additional premium has been paid and Winter Sports cover is shown on Your Policy Schedule.

  • All other Winter Sports are excluded unless We agree, in writing, to cover them.

  • Winter Sports activities, unless the appropriate additional premium for Winter Sports cover has been paid and is shown on Your Policy Schedule.

  • This includes unmarked areas between runs which are inside the resort boundary and areas located outside of the resort boundaries in the backcountry.Ski-packYour non-refundable hired Winter Sports Equipment, ski-pass, ski-school instruction or ski-guide services which You have paid or are liable to pay.

  • Your claim will be based on the number of complete days of Your trip in resort that You are unable to participate in Winter Sports.


More Definitions of Winter Sports

Winter Sports means skiing, snowboarding, ice hockey, the use of bobsleighs or similar winter sports apparatus or competitive skating.

Related to Winter Sports

  • Winter Season means the period commencing on November 1 of any year and ending on the next succeeding March 31.

  • Generating Company means any company or body corporate or association or body of individuals, whether incorporated or not, or artificial juridical person, which owns or operates or maintains a generating station;

  • Professional Sports means a sport, which would remunerate a player in excess of 50% of his or her annual income as a means of their livelihood.

  • Load Serving Entity or “LSE” shall have the meaning specified in the Reliability Assurance Agreement.

  • Wireline means a cable containing one or more electrical conductors which is used to lower and raise logging tools in the well-bore.

  • Water Service Connection means the pipes and fixtures used for the purpose of supplying any premises in the Municipality with water from the Corporation’s water works that is located between the Corporation’s watermain in the street and the street property line abutting the premises so supplied.
