Common use of Absence for Union Representatives Clause in Contracts

Absence for Union Representatives. Employees who are representatives of the Local on the various Union committees or are Union Stewards shall not suffer any loss of pay when required to leave their places of employment temporarily in order to meet with the Employer concerning the processing or resolution of grievances. Employees must apply for, and receive permission from the Employer, prior to leaving their places of employment for such purposes.

Absence for Union Representatives. Employees who are representatives of the Local on the various Union committees committees, or are who may be Union Stewards Stewards, shall not suffer any loss of pay when required to leave their places of employment temporarily in order to meet with the Employer Society concerning the processing or resolution of grievancesgrievances or other Union-Management business. The griever will be released with pay for grievance and arbitration proceedings. Employees must apply for, and receive permission from the Employer, notify their immediate supervisor prior to leaving their places place of employment for such purposespurposes and will be allowed to do so provided this does not impact on immediate service requirements.
