Absence of Shop Stewards. (99) The Company shall allow the Shop Stewards in a Department to be absent from their jobs without disturbing service and without loss of regular wages for a reasonable period in order to assist the employees in their Departments in discussion(s) pertaining to the interpretation and/or application of the Collective Agreement with their immediate Supervisor who is excluded from the bargaining unit. The Shop Stewards must first obtain permission to be absent from their immediate Supervisor who is excluded from the bargaining unit. The permission shall not be refused without valid reason. The Shop Xxxxxxx shall advise their immediate Supervisor who is excluded from the bargaining unit as soon as they return to their jobs. Should a Shop Xxxxxxx be absent or not in place in a Department, members of the Union Executive Committee may replace them under the same conditions. The Local Chairperson attending a meeting Mutually Agreed upon at which the parties to the present Agreement are present, shall be subject to no loss of regular wages.

  • Shop Stewards The Employer agrees to the operation of a Shop Xxxxxxx system which shall be governed by the following:

  • Leave of Absence for Union Functions a) Upon request to the Employer, an Employee elected or appointed to represent the Union at conventions shall be allowed leave of absence with pay and benefits.

  • Leave of Absence for Employees Who Serve as Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association An employee who serves as Local Coordinator for the Ontario Nurses' Association shall be granted leave of absence without pay up to a total of thirty-five (35) days annually. Leave of absence for Local Coordinators for the Ontario Nurses' Association will be separate from the Union leave provided in (a) above.

  • Employment and Training Administration The ratio of trainees to journeymen on the job site shall not be greater than permitted under the plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration. Every trainee must be paid at not less than the rate specified in the approved program for the trainee's level of progress, expressed as a percentage of the journeyman hourly rate specified in the applicable wage determination. Trainees shall be paid fringe benefits in accordance with the provisions of the trainee program. If the trainee program does not mention fringe benefits, trainees shall be paid the full amount of fringe benefits listed on the wage determination unless the Administrator of the Wage and Hour Division determines that there is an apprenticeship program associated with the corresponding journeyman wage rate on the wage determination which provides for less than full fringe benefits for apprentices. Any employee listed on the payroll at a trainee rate who is not registered and participating in a training plan approved by the Employment and Training Administration shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the classification of work actually performed. In addition, any trainee performing work on the job site in excess of the ratio permitted under the registered program shall be paid not less than the applicable wage rate on the wage determination for the work actually performed. In the event the Employment and Training Administration withdraws approval of a training program, the contractor will no longer be permitted to utilize trainees at less than the applicable predetermined rate for the work performed until an acceptable program is approved.

  • Job Stewards 10.01 Job Stewards shall be recognized on all jobs and they shall not be discriminated against. It will be his/her duty to attend to all complaints between the workers on the job and the company to endeavor to reach a settlement before these complaints become grievances.

  • Leave of Absence for Union Business (a) The Employer shall grant leaves of absence to employees to attend Union Conventions, negotiations of the Collective Agreement with the Employer and other Union business. The Union agrees that such leave will not unduly affect the proper operations or be detrimental to the proficient operations of the Employer.

  • Supervisory Employees For the purposes of this Article, the parties agree that Supervisory positions are those that are not excluded under Article 2.0 above and that satisfy the following criteria:

  • Leave of Absence for College Committees An employee whose assigned work schedule would prevent her/him from attending meetings of a college committee to which s/he has been elected or appointed, will be granted a leave of absence from her/his regular duties without loss of pay or other entitlements to attend such meeting(s). Where such leave is granted, the employer will replace the employee as necessary. Costs arising from this provision will not be charged against the program area of the participating employee.

  • Personnel Selection Leave 35.6.1 Where an employee participates in a personnel selection process for a position in the Public Service, as defined in the Financial Administration Act, the Council shall grant leave of absence with pay for the period during which the employee's presence is required for purposes of the selection process, and for such further period as the Council considers reasonable for the employee to travel to and from the place where his presence is so required.

  • Industrial Relations Training Leave 53.1 Union Delegate/Employee Representative shall have access to industrial relations training in accordance with Appendix E hereof.
