Academic Classroom Facilities Sample Clauses

Academic Classroom Facilities. The turnkey training requirements consist of courses requiring both formal classroom space, as well as space for performance of lab requirements. The Section 170 of the DOD Unified Facilities Criteria (UFC 2-000-05N) (Attachment M) provides detailed requirements regarding the necessary size of classrooms, etc. Classrooms are characterized based on the equipment used in the classroom. General academic classrooms are configured for classroom lecture instruction, using standard chairs with fixed tablet arms or a similar seating configuration providing the student with a writing area and book depository. A modified academic classroom is equipped with desks or other working surfaces (such as tables). Per DOD UFC 2-000-05N, the size of general classrooms is calculated using 22 square feet per student, and modified classrooms allow for 45 square feet per student. The size of student breakrooms is based on the average number of students scheduled for a class recess at the same time. The calculations shown in Figure 6-1 below assume a maximum size student load. The breakroom numbers reflect worst case scenario based on the number of classes in session simultaneously.
