Academic Year Calendar. A campus-wide committee with no more than seven (7) members will be established for the purpose of considering the Academic Year Calendar. The Association shall designate two (2) Faculty representatives to serve on this committee. The Chancellor shall consult with the committee when developing the Academic Year Calendar, provided that the Chancellor retains the final right to determine the calendar following such consultation. During the term of this Agreement, there shall be at least four (4) weeks between the Fall and Spring semesters of each academic year covered by said Agreement unless extraordinary circumstance result in an extension of the Fall semester that precludes having such a four-week break or unless the parties mutually agree otherwise.

Academic Year Calendar. Section 11.1 The College develops and establishes the academic calendar(s) with input from the Federation. Input to the proposed calendar should be received from the Federation by the end of November each year. The placement of contracted non-instructional days within the academic year will be identified on the college calendar. Section 11.2 The following guiding principles will be used in developing annual calendars when possible: A. Fall, Winter, and Spring instruction begin on Mondays but not immediately after a holiday. B. Fall, Winter, and Spring academic terms, including all instructional days and non-instructional days, are scheduled within a 11-week (11) block. C. Summer term is scheduled within an eight (8) week block. D. A rolling 2-year, approved calendar will be maintained. E. The College calendars will be posted on the College website and intranet. F.   • School Calendar The Dual Credit course schedule will be determined by the location of the course delivery, provided that the required contact hours and prerequisites are met. The instructional calendar for the high school portion of the School will be based on the School District calendar and comply with all related TEA regulations for school attendance. The School District will adjust its schedule as necessary to enable Students to enroll in and attend the college- level courses provided by College. The School District and College will coordinate the State Student assessment requirements to ensure said assessments are administered without penalty. The School District, School and College will ensure that the School calendar accounts for the required per-semester contact hours for courses. When the instructional delivery is on the College site, it may be necessary for Students to attend classes on days when the School District is closed (e.g., different holiday closures). When Students take classes at the College scheduled on days when School is closed, the School District will ensure that at least one staff member with administrative authority be on call and available to be reached by the College’s Office of High School Programs or other College staff in case of emergency. The designated School staff member will have access to Student emergency contact information. While the College agrees to make scheduling accommodations for required State assessments, including the STAAR and End of Course Exams, all contact hour requirements must be met. For assessments not mandated by the State, the College and School District will come to a mutual agreement on administration dates in order to appropriately manage disruptions of college courses and ensure contact hour requirements are met.

  • ALTERNATE SCHOOL CALENDAR 1. In this article, an alternative school calendar is a school calendar that differs from the standard school calendar as specified in Schedule 1 (Supplement) of the School Calendar Regulation 114/02. 2. When a school district intends to implement an alternate school calendar, written notification shall be provided to the local no later than forty (40) working days prior to its implementation. The employer and the local shall meet within five (5) working days following receipt of such notice to negotiate modifications to the provisions of the agreement that are directly or indirectly affected by the proposed change(s).
