Accident Leave. In case of any accident or injury arising out of and in the course of employment, and while the teacher is acting pursuant to Board policy, the involved teacher shall make every effort to report to the principal within forty-eight (48) hours and shall make every effort to file a written report with the Superintendent within seven (7) days of such accident or injury. The Board shall continue the teacher’s wages in full until Worker’s Compensation payments begin; and after such payments begin, the Board shall pay the difference between Worker’s Compensation payments and the contractual salary of the teacher for a period not to exceed thirty (30) days. During this thirty (30) day period all such payments shall be without a reduction in accumulated sick leave of the teacher. This Paragraph shall cease to be effective on such date as the teacher shall qualify for disability benefits under the Illinois Teachers’ Retirement System.
