Common use of Accumulative Benefits Clause in Contracts

Accumulative Benefits. All employees shall be provided sick leave benefits as set forth in Iowa Code Section 279.40. Employees hired prior to the commencement of the school year shall be entitled to ten (10) sick leave days as of the first official day of said school year even though they are unable to report for duty on that day due to physical or mental illness. Employees who are hired and who begin work after commencement of the school year shall receive sick leave benefits prorated (on an annual basis of ten (10) days of sick leave for a full school year) to the date on which they are scheduled to report for duty. Unused sick leave days shall be accumulated from year to year with a maximum of one hundred thirty (130) days.
