Common use of Adoption/Parental Leave Clause in Contracts

Adoption/Parental Leave. 34.01 Upon written request, a leave of absence without loss of wages, benefits or seniority occasioned by and around the time of the birth or adoption of a child shall be granted to a permanent Member who is the parent of the child. Such leave shall be for a total of not more than three (3) days. 34.02 A further two (2) days of leave with pay may be approved, if requested by the Member, but shall be subtracted from the days available under Article 31.05, - Special Leave. 34.03 Upon written request, up to three (3) days of unpaid leave occasioned by and around the time of the birth or adoption of a child shall be granted to a temporary or replacement Member who is the parent of the child.
