AGE AND STRS ELIGIBILITY FOR BENEFITS a. A bargaining unit member will be eligible to participate in the Plan provided the member begins an STRS service retirement no sooner than the end of the school year and no later than September 1 following the contract year in which the member first reaches 33 years of STRS service credit (or 32 years of STRS service credit for retirement dates from August 1, 2017 through July 1, 2019); or
