Data Protection There are no data protection implications arising from this report. Health and Wellbeing There are no health & wellbeing implications arising from this report. Risk Assessment There will be reputational and financial risks for SDC when a new Coventry & Warwickshire LVEP is formed. Now that a decision has been made to form a Coventry & Warwickshire LVEP there is an expectation that SDC will continue to be a full partner in a new LVEP, as it does with Xxxxxxxxxxx’s England. SDC has a seat on the Shakespeare’s England Board and currently contributes £100,000 per year (currently committed up to September 2024). As noted elsewhere in this report, the recommendation in this report is for agreement to a new Coventry & Warwickshire LVEP in principle only, subject to further work. At this time, no financial commitment beyond September 2024 is being made. Where appropriate and necessary, further decisions in relation to the new LVEP, and this Council’s role in it, would be brought back to the Council for further approval, in particular in respect of the governance arrangements. Conversely, there is a risk associated in not actively exploring how a new LVEP may benefit the District. The Government has made clear that it sees LVEPs as the way that DMOs are organised nationally, and it is appropriate that SDC considers the role of Xxxxxxxxxxx’s England in this moving forward. Conclusion/Reasons for the Recommendation This report proposes to continue to support Xxxxxxxxxxx’s England in promoting and marketing Stratford-on-Avon District as a destination. It responds to the Government’s new DMO structure and is considered to be the most appropriate approach for the District. The report acknowledges that further work is still to be done in respect of governance and financing of the LVEP. Xxxx Xxxxxxxx HEAD OF DEVELOPMENT Background papers:
