Annual Work Days. Total teacher work days will be 185 days. Additionally, teacher work days scheduled before the first student day shall be split evenly between District/building time and teacher preparation time. New teachers shall be required to work 188 days, which includes three (3) additional days before the first teacher work day of the school year as identified on the calendar. A new teacher hired after the beginning of the school year shall attend the three (3) additional new teacher professional development days the following school year and will receive their per diem rate (at their hire salary) for these three (3) additional days worked. With prior approval from the building administrator, a counselor may be excused from the opening day professional development for the purpose of working on student schedules and enrollment/registration.

Related to Annual Work Days

  • Work Days The work day shall consist of an assigned shift within twenty-four (24) consecutive hours commencing at 12:01 a.m.

  • Normal Work Day The normal work day shall be eight (8) hours and the normal work week shall be forty (40) hours, Monday through Friday, provided however that nothing herein shall be construed as guaranteeing any EMPLOYEE eight (8) hours of work per day or forty (40) hours per week. A single shift shall consist of eight (8) hours of continuous employment, except for unpaid lunch period, between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

  • Work Year The full-time work year for all employees employed in EA and ECE job classes shall be a minimum of 194 work days to correspond with the school year calendar.

  • Normal Work Week The normal work week shall be thirty-seven and one-half (37 1/2) hours, and the normal daily hours of work shall be seven and one-half (7 1/2) hours, exclusive of a meal period. The normal work week shall be Monday through Friday and the normal workday shall be scheduled between 7:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m.

  • Work Day The standard work day shall be eight (8) consecutive hours of work exclusive of a lunch period in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour day.

  • Work Week The work week will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 11:59 p.m. the following Saturday.

  • Weeks Any leave of absence for maternity, paternity or adoption that results from the birth or adoption of a child(ren) that is medically necessary as evidenced by an attending physician’s statement is covered by the sick leave provisions of this Agreement. The attending physician’s statement shall be submitted to the District concerning the medical circumstances that require the leave. Employees may access their earned sick leave during parenting leave up to twelve (12) weeks or the time specified by their physician. Leaves to care for children in excess of twelve (12) weeks that are not medically necessary may qualify as personal leaves of absence.

  • Normal Workweek The normal workweek shall consist of five (5) days, eight (8) hours per day and forty (40) hours per week. This Article shall not restrict the extension of the regular workday or workweek on an overtime basis when such is necessary to carry on the business of the District.

  • Work Period The normal work period shall consist of forty (40) hours of work within a seven (7) day period or eighty (80) hours of work within a fourteen (14) day period.

  • Contract Year A twelve (12) month period during the term of the Agreement commencing on the Effective Date and each anniversary thereof.
