Teacher Work Days. The work year of 185 work days represents 100% of the certificated salary schedule as presented in Appendix B. 15.1.2 The work year for certain unit members who may meet a special District need may be extended by mutual agreement between the individual and the District up to five (5) working days at either end of the regular work year with thirty (30) days’ notice. The unit member shall be compensated at the appropriate per diem rate for each day served. 15.1.3 At the request of the site administrator, and with the approval of the unit member involved, a unit member may teach during his/her preparatory period. The unit member will be compensated for the equivalent of one period. At the secondary level the compensation will be 1/5 of the unit member's current salary. 15.1.3.1 The use of a preparatory period for instruction will be used on an emergency basis only. As an example, an emergency could result from an unanticipated growth or shift in student enrollment. All efforts will be made to anticipate enrollment changes to properly staff each site prior to the beginning of each school year. In case unit members are needed to teach during their preparatory period, efforts to eliminate this necessity will be made for the second semester. 15.1.3.2 No unit member shall volunteer or be asked to teach during his/her preparatory period for two (2) consecutive years if there is any reasonable way to avoid such situation. No non- tenured unit member shall volunteer or be asked to teach during his/her preparatory period if there is any reasonable way to avoid such situation. 15.1.3.3 When an emergency situation requires the use of a preparatory period for instruction, the position must be opened to all qualified teachers at the site. If more than one qualified applicant is available, consideration should be given to the unit member who has not recently served in this capacity.

Teacher Work Days. During the work days prior to students arriving, Administration will provide at least six (6) hours of time for teachers to work in classrooms unless the staff decides otherwise. In order to provide for potential inclement weather contingencies, teachers will work only one (1) teacher contract day after the last student attendance day with a contingency for natural disaster. Teachers may have flexible hours on work days with the following stipulations: 1. The building principal and staff will mutually agree to the general building hours to be followed by the majority of the staff. 2. Employees who wish to establish hours different from the general building hours will inform the building principal regarding his/her desire to use flexible working hours. The principal will inform the employee of the hours when the building will open and close. Flexible hours must conform to these times. 3. Employees who choose a flexible schedule will complete a signed time sheet indicating the hours worked. Hours worked on flexible time must be equal to the hours worked by staff that conforms to the work day established for the building. 4. Employees using flexible time will be expected to attend any faculty meeting called by principals on these dates. Principals will give adequate prior notice to staff for meetings that will be scheduled on work days.
Teacher Work Days. The two (2) contract teacher work days shall be used as follows: one (1) day for district-wide/school purposes and one (1) day for teacher preparation.
Teacher Work Days. The five (5) contract teacher work days shall be used as follows: three (3) days for district-wide/school purposes and two (2) days for teacher preparation, which includes teacher completion of online required training. If required training increases from that of 2021-2022, the district and association will negotiate additional time for completion.

  • Work Days The work day shall consist of an assigned shift within twenty-four (24) consecutive hours commencing at 12:01 a.m.

  • Summer Work a. This section shall apply only to those employees hired to fill temporary summer positions. b. The District will provide the Association with a list of expected summer work job openings prior to the last day of school. Summer positions shall be included on the District’s website. c. The District shall not fill summer positions with outside employees until bargaining unit members have had at least three (3) working days to submit applications.

  • Work Day The standard work day shall be eight (8) consecutive hours of work exclusive of a lunch period in a consecutive twenty-four (24) hour day.

  • Day Work The Company shall structure the Project Working Hours to include one (1) half-hour rest break to be taken without deduction of pay by Employees working the Project Working Hours on any day (Monday to Saturday inclusive).

  • OTHER WORK 14.1 Owner may perform other work related to the Project at the site by Owner’s own forces, have other work performed by utility owners or let other direct contracts. If the fact that such other work is to be performed is not noted in the Contract Documents, written notice thereof will be given to Construction Contractor prior to starting any such other work. If Construction Contractor believes that such performance will involve additional expense to Construction Contractor or require additional time, Construction Contractor shall send written notice of that fact to Owner and Design Professional within seven (7) calendar days of being notified of the other work. If Construction Contractor fails to send the above required seven (7) calendar days’ notice, Construction Contractor will be deemed to have waived any rights it otherwise may have had to seek an extension to the Contract Time or adjustment to the Contract Amount. 14.2 Construction Contractor shall afford each utility owner and other contractor who is a party to such a direct contract (or Owner, if Owner is performing the additional work with Owner’s employees) proper and safe access to the site and a reasonable opportunity for the introduction and storage of materials and equipment and the execution of such work and shall properly connect and coordinate its Work with theirs. Construction Contractor shall do all cutting, fitting and patching of the Work that may be required to make its several parts come together properly and integrate with such other work. Construction Contractor shall be responsible for all damage to the work of others caused by the performance of its Work. Further, Construction Contractor shall not in any way cut or alter the work of others without first receiving the written consent of that other person and Design Professional. 14.3 If any part of Construction Contractor’s Work depends for proper execution or results upon the work of any other contractor or utility owner (or Owner), Construction Contractor shall inspect and promptly report to Design Professional in writing any delays, defects or deficiencies in such work that render it unavailable or unsuitable for such proper execution and results. Such report must be made within seven (7) calendar days of the time Construction Contractor first became aware of the delay, defect or deficiency or by the scheduled commencement of Construction Contractor’s dependent Work, whichever occurs first. Construction Contractor’s failure to report within the allotted time will constitute an acceptance of the other work as fit and proper for integration with Construction Contractor’s Work.

  • Work Week The work week will begin at 12:00 a.m. on Sunday and end at 11:59 p.m. the following Saturday.

  • STOP WORK NOTICE The City may issue an immediate Stop Work Notice in the event the Contractor is observed performing in a manner that is in violation of Federal, State, or local guidelines, or in a manner that is determined by the City to be unsafe to either life or property. Upon notification, the Contractor will cease all work until notified by the City that the violation or unsafe condition has been corrected. The Contractor shall be liable for all costs incurred by the City as a result of the issuance of such Stop Work Notice.

  • Work Hours Except in emergencies, the standard work week of full-time unit employees shall normally consist of five (5) days of eight (8) hours each, exclusive of lunch hour. Each employee shall be assigned regular starting and ending times, which shall not be changed without prior notice. Should an employee be required to work during his/her lunch hour, the length of such interruption shall be counted as time worked unless other arrangements are made with his/her supervisor.

  • Overtime Work A. Overtime pay is to be paid at the rate of one and one- half (1½) times the basic hourly straight-time rate. B. Overtime shall be paid to employees for work performed only after eight (8) hours on duty in any one (1) service day or forty (40) hours in any one (1) service week. Nothing in this Section shall be construed by the parties or any reviewing authority to deny the payment of overtime to employees for time worked outside of their regularly scheduled work week at the request of the Employer.   • Extra Work At any time during the Term of this Agreement, City may request that Consultant perform Extra Work. As used herein, “Extra Work” means any work which is determined by City to be necessary for the proper completion of the Project, but which the Parties did not reasonably anticipate would be necessary at the execution of this Agreement. Consultant shall not perform, nor be compensated for, Extra Work without written authorization from City’s Representative.
