Common use of Appeal of Discharge or Discipline Clause in Contracts

Appeal of Discharge or Discipline. Should the discharged or suspended employee consider the discharge or suspension to be improper, the employee may submit the matter to grievance directly at the third step of the grievance procedure within five (5) regularly scheduled working days of the discharge or suspension. In the case of discipline other than suspension or discharge, should the employee consider the discipline to be improper the matter may be submitted at Step I of the grievance procedure as provided in Article 13-3.
