ATTENDANCE PROCEDURE. A. Food service employees are responsible for reporting their absence by calling as directed by their building principal. B. Notice of absence must be given to the District by employees at least three (3) hours before the start of the shift, except for extenuating circumstances, or leave time cannot be used. For employees who work in preparation kitchens, the notice should be at least one hour before the start of the shift or leave time cannot be used. For employees working the breakfast shift, they must call at least one (1) hour before the start of the shift.

ATTENDANCE PROCEDURE. 1. When a student is going to be absent from school regardless of what the reason might be, it is necessary that a parent/guardian telephone the elementary school office (920-842-2181 ext. 1002) between the hours of 7:30 – 8:30 a.m. and report the reason for the absence. 2. If a student leaves at any time during the day, he or she must have prior approval from their parent/guardian and the student office before they leave. The student must check out in the office. 3. If a student is directed by the health department and/or a healthcare professional to quarantine due to Covid-19 or other possible exposure. 4. Students exhibiting symptoms consistent with Covid-19 screening items including but not limited to cough, sneezing, sore throat and/or fever. 5. The following reasons for absence are considered justified and the students will be permitted to make up work: a. Student Illness (a doctor’s written excuse may be required if the student is absent as sufficient proof of the physical or mental condition of the child). b. Serious illness or death in the immediate family. c. Official school functions, such as field trips, travel, extra-curricular. d. Absence resulting from a grave emergency at home as determined by the principal. e. Suspension from school. A suspended student shall be permitted to take unit, quarterly, or semester tests, and the grades will be averaged in as usual.
ATTENDANCE PROCEDURE. Secretaries are responsible for reporting their absence by calling as directed by their immediate supervisor; either, the immediate supervisor, the assigned building or department, or the Human Resources Department.
ATTENDANCE PROCEDURE. A. Employees are responsible for reporting their absences as requested by individual department procedures. Employees will not be required to make duplicate calls. Failure to abide by department procedures can result in disciplinary action. Such procedures shall be developed and made known to employees prior to the start of the school year. Attendance procedures will not be modified unless mutually agreed to by the Board and Association. B. For those employees assigned to school buildings, once an absence is reported to the department supervisor, it shall be the responsibility of the supervisor to notify building administration of such absence. C. Employees who are absent due to personal illness for more than three (3) consecutive days, shall be required to present a doctor's verification of such illness or other verification upon their return to work in order to receive pay for the days absent. D. The parties agree to the application and institution of the Board's absenteeism control program/procedure for all S-MESPA employees in the school district in accordance with the joint understanding "issue": attendance/absenteeism" signed by the parties and dated August 19, 1990. The parties agree during the 2000-2001 work year the Labor Management Council shall review this program / procedure and make any modifications needed.
ATTENDANCE PROCEDURE. A. Absences from work should be reported to the School District at least one (1) hour prior to the Paraprofessional’s scheduled starting time by calling the School District answering service at 285-4242 or current procedure. B. The Union recognizes the importance and necessity of attendance to the School District. The District has the right to investigate the pattern and/or excessive absenteeism which shall result in disciplinary action. Further, the Board may request and require reasonable proof of either an employee's ability or inability to return to work. C. Any resulting disciplinary action will be progressive. Prior to issuing said action each case will be reviewed based upon its own merit.

A call from the parent the day of the absence, or note from the parent/guardian explaining the reason for the absence must be submitted the day of the student’s return to school office or the absence is recorded as truant. 1. Students who arrive late must report to the office for a pass to class. 2. A student should never leave school without permission. Parents must come into the office and sign a student release log if a student needs to leave before the end of the school day. If the student is to be released to another adult or on their own, the office will dismiss the student only with a printed and signed note, email, or text message from the parent/guardian. Phone calls will not be accepted, but a written note may be faxed to the office. All communication must include student name, grade, time of requested departure, reason, destination, who will sign the student out (another adult or the student), printed parent/guardian name, parent/guardian signature and phone number. All work missed is to be made up.
ATTENDANCE PROCEDURE. A. The following attendance codes are infractions (except as noted) for purpose of this Appendix: B, N, O, S, or T. (1) A maximum of three periods of B code absences per calendar year shall be excused if preceded by a medically authorized W code, as specified in Section 3(D) below, or doctor's verification is received for the days absent. Such B code absences are to be entered on the KARDEX as "B1". (2) In instances where an employee's absence or tardiness is caused by a verified circumstance such as an Act of God, fire or flood established by the Company, the Labor Relations Representative or Human Resources Representative will inform Supervision that such absence or tardiness will not be recorded on the employee's KARDEX. (3) Paid sick leave days of absence will not be attendance infractions. B. Any one continuous period of B or O codes is considered as one infraction. C. Reasonable allowance for part-day absence for necessary medical/dental care is provided when an employee submits written verification of doctor and dentist visits. Such part-day absences are coded W for a maximum of six within a calendar year. Beyond six, each is documented as a short-time infraction (code S). D. Employees who become ill after reporting to their work station and starting their shift may be granted an approved W code at the discretion of supervision prior to leaving the plant. Such approval shall not be unreasonably denied. E. All absences must be reported, if possible, within two (2) hours of the start of shift, to the supervisor or department office. At that time, the anticipated length of absence and/or expected return date should be explained. If unable to call personally, each employee should have someone call for them where possible. F. A reported absence is valid until the date of return specified by the employee or, if the return date is indefinite, for two working days. The third day of absence constitutes the first day of unreported absence.

All morning absences must be reported daily prior to 6:00 a.m. After the first morning run, two (2) hours notice must be given prior to returning to the bargaining unit member’s regularly scheduled run if said bargaining unit member had previously indicated that she/he would not be able to drive that run.

ATTENDANCE PROCEDURE. All provisions of the GM/UAW National Agreement on Attendance apply to the Spring Hill site. It is understood by the parties that any changes made to the current or future GM/UAW National Agreement provisions on Attendance will apply. The following Special Procedure for Attendance is contained in the 2015 GM/UAW Agreement.
