Common use of Appearances Clause in Contracts

Appearances. ‌ When a Faculty Member participates during normal working hours in an arbitration proceeding or in a Grievance meeting between the Grievant and the University, the Faculty Member’s compensation shall not be reduced for time spent in those activities. Prior to participation in any such proceedings, conferences, or meetings, the Faculty Member will make arrangements for the performance of the Faculty Member’s duties. Approval of such arrangements will not be unreasonably withheld. Time spent in such activities outside regular working hours will not be counted as time worked.
