Common use of Application for Sick Leave Bank Clause in Contracts

Application for Sick Leave Bank. An employee may apply for sick leave from the sick leave bank if he or she has exhausted his or her sick and personal leave and all except five (5) days of vacation leave, and: i. Presents a documented extended illness or injury on the part of the employee, and; ii. The employee has pursued all avenues for long-term disability if the illness or injury is expected to last longer than six (6) months. iii. Donated leave from the sick bank is not available to be used for the care of others.
