Authorizing Body Contract Authorization Process. Pursuant to the Code, the University Board is not required to issue a contract to the Academy. This Contract is for a fixed term and will terminate at that end of the Contract term set forth in Section 12.14 without any further action of either the Academy or the University Board. Prior to the end of the Contract term, the University Board shall provide a description of the process and standards by which the Academy may be considered for the issuance of a new contract. The timeline for consideration of whether to issue a new contract to the Academy shall be solely determined by the University Board. The standards for issuance of a new contract shall include increases in academic achievement for all groups of pupils as measured by assessments and other objective criteria established by the University Board as the most important factor of whether to issue or not issue a new contract. The University Board, at its sole discretion, may change its process and standards for issuance of a contract at any time, and any such changes shall take effect automatically without the need for any amendment to this Contract. Consistent with the Code, the University Board may elect, at its sole discretion, not to consider the issuance of a contract, consider reauthorization of the Academy and elect not to issue a contract, or consider reauthorization of the Academy and issue a contract for a fixed term.
