Common use of Auxiliary Days of Rest Clause in Contracts

Auxiliary Days of Rest. ‌ (a) Auxiliary employees hired on an "on call" basis shall not be recalled to available work unless they have had at least two days off in the six calendar days immediately preceding the available work, unless precluded by insufficient on call staff being available. (b) Auxiliary employees who work the same number of consecutive full shifts at straight-time rates as regular employees in the same classification covered by the same local Hours of Work Agreement, shall be given the same number of consecutive days of rest as the regular employees. Such days of rest shall be contiguous with and immediately following the days worked. Auxiliary employees shall not have the right to be recalled on those days of rest.
