BACKROUND. Rich in history and nestled along the south face of Wachusett Mountain, Princeton is a rural community with small yet thriving pockets of agriculture, conservation land, and open space. Its scenic beauty has been sought by travelers as a refuge from the city for hundreds of years. Princeton's Town government is organized with an elected 3-member Selectboard, who serve as the executive branch, a Town Administrator tasked with overseeing the Town's day-to-day operations and policy enactment, and an Open Town Meeting legislative branch. Princeton provides its citizens with municipal highway services, a regional school system, sanitation, health, recreation, planning, zoning, public improvement services, and police and fire protection. In 2021, these local services were supported with an $11,165,632.34 operating budget. The mission of the Princeton Fire and EMS Department is to protect the life and property of Princeton residents, businesses, and visitors. The Princeton Fire and EMS Department responds to all medical and fire/rescue emergencies and performs proactive prevention activities. Prevention is accomplished by applying proactive inspection and code enforcement, protecting the environment from natural and human-caused disasters, and establishing and maintaining a comprehensive fire safety education and prevention program designed to meet diverse community needs. These services are provided on-call with limited Full-Time Emergency Medical Technician shifts added in 2019. The Princeton Fire Department currently has two fire stations, both older, one of which does not meet fire safety standards. The Town has been advancing towards a new Public Safety Building, with the most recent proposal narrowly denied in 2021. SCOPE OF SERVICES As part of this project the vendor will evaluate current conditions and service performance to assess PFD’s operations in comparison to industry standards and best practices. BACKROUND. The California-Mexico Health Initiative (CMHI) was created in January 2001 under the auspices of the California Policy Research Center of the University of California, Office of the President. It is a collaborative effort involving government, academia, the private sector, and community-based organizations of both countries. The Initiative's objective is to coordinate and optimize the availability of health resources for Mexican immigrants and their families through bilateral training, research, and health promotion activities and education. CMHI has focused efforts in 4 of California's regions with high percentages of Mexican migrants and immigrants. These regions include Imperial, Monterey, San Diego, and Tulare counties. The regional offices are responsible for establishing and coordinating health education and health promotion activities in the various counties, and building collaboration among key local stakeholders from various health agencies including community clinics, UC programs, hometown associations, and nonprofit organizations.
BACKROUND. 5.1.1 Finance and Governance Strengthening Under the Governance and Finance component, USAID defined the main topics/areas to be prioritized as follows: • Strengthen provincial and municipal capacities in annual planning, budgeting, and monitoring interventions in Zaire and Lunda Sul Provinces. • Strengthen management capacities within the NMCP, starting with a comprehensive institutional assessment, followed by building capacity in annual planning, budgeting, human resources, and financial management. • Estimate the cost of iCCM interventions regarding malaria, diarrhea, and pneumonia.
