Common use of Base Hours Clause in Contracts

Base Hours. For the purpose of the following provisions, "base hours" shall mean the normal aggregate number of hours to be worked by a part-time employee during any workweek. At the time of hiring, part-time employees shall be advised of the possibility of having their base hours increased or reduced in accordance with the terms of this collective agreement and shall be provided with a copy of the provisions of this article. Part-time employees who are hired on or after the date of signing of this collective agreement shall have their base hours established at the time of hiring and the Union shall be provided with a document confirming these hours within 10 calendar days from date of hire.
