Minimum Hours. All employees shall be paid their regular hourly rate for each hour worked except where employed for less than four (4) consecutive hours per day, in which event they shall receive a minimum of four (4) hours pay. An employee who is called for work and upon reporting finds that his or her services are not required shall receive two (2) hours pay.
Minimum Hours.
(a) Every reasonable effort will be made to ensure that no regular employee is assigned to work less than four hours in a given day with the exception of emergency situations.
(b) An employee reporting to work but unable to commence or continue his/her duties for reasons beyond the control of the Employer, shall be required to immediately report the situation to his/her Supervisor. Where possible, the employee shall be reassigned to an alternate worksite. Where no alternate work is available, the employee shall receive payment for the assignment to a maximum of four hours straight-time pay or, where the Employer is reimbursed for greater than four hours payment, for the number of hours reimbursed to the Employer.
(c) Assignments cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice shall not result in loss of pay to the employee, provided the Employer is reimbursed for the service.
(d) If an employee is required to attend to a deceased client he/she shall be paid for all hours worked in accordance with the collective agreement. An employee shall not suffer loss of pay for assignments that are re-assigned due to the employee being required to attend to a deceased client. The employee will be paid the greater of the hours worked or the hours scheduled for that day.
Minimum Hours. In the event of an employee starting work in any day and being sent home before s/he has completed four (4) hours, s/he shall be paid for four (4) hours at the regular rate of pay. In the event that an employee reports for work but is sent home before commencing work, s/he shall be paid for two (2) hours at regular rates. No pay entitlement will apply if the employee is incapable of performing his/her duties.

(a) Where an casual employee is called to work but is informed on arrival at the work site she will not be required to work that shift, the employee is entitled to a minimum of two (2) hours’ pay. Where an casual employee is called to work, begins her duties and is subsequently informed she will not be required to work the full shift, the employee is entitled to a minimum of four (4) hours’ pay.
(b) Article 14.5(a) does not apply to school students reporting for work on a school day in which event the student shall receive payment for the hours worked with a minimum of two (2) hours’ pay in any one (1) day.

Notwithstanding the above clauses in Subsection (e), a Service Clerk who is called for work and, upon reporting for work, finds that his or her services are not required, shall receive two (2) hours pay. A Service Clerk who is called for work, and commences work, and finds his or her services are no longer required, shall be guaranteed two (2) hours pay. On Saturday only, a Service Clerk shall receive reporting pay of four (4) hours.

The parties agree that, having regard to the unique nature of the position of StrongStart Coordinator, the needs of the program and the requirement for flexibility in scheduling hours of work outside of the hours of operation of the StrongStart Centre, the four-hour minimum shift shall be interpreted as an average four hours work daily over the course of a four week period.

The parties agree that, having regard to the unique nature of the position of Strong Start Coordinator, the needs of the program and the requirement for flexibility in scheduling hours of work outside of the hours of operation of the Strong Start Centre, the four-hour minimum shift shall be interpreted as an average four hours work daily over the course of a four week period.
