Common use of Benefits Administration Clause in Contracts

Benefits Administration. CSEA shall have the right to appoint at least one (1) representative to the District-wide committee formed for the purpose of researching and reviewing insurance plans, proposals and benefits in order to insure that quality and cost effectiveness criteria are maintained. The District has the right to select the insurance carrier as long as same coverage is maintained. In the event that the carrier makes a unilateral change to the benefits over which District has no control, the District shall inform the Union. In these circumstances, the District shall not be held financially or otherwise responsible for the change. The Union may reopen negotiations for the limited purpose of bargaining the impact of the change on their members.
