BOARD OF EDUCATION ACTION. 15.16.10.1 Compliance with the requirements stated in this policy does not imply automatic granting of sabbatical leave. The decision rests solely with the Board of Trustees of the District. 15.16.10.2 The recommendation of the Superintendent and the judgment of the Board, rendered in consideration of an employee's sabbatical leave request, shall not be subject to the provisions of the "Grievance Procedure" of this Agreement.

BOARD OF EDUCATION ACTION. The Board will consider hearing the complaints only when the complaints cannot be resolved by the administrator and employee involved. Matters referred to the Board must be in writing and be specific in the terms of the complaint and action desired. a. The Board will only consider or act on complaints that have been explored and processed in accordance with this procedure by the appropriate administrative level. b. When the Board considers complaints it shall do so in executive session in the presence of the complainant(s) and the employee against whom the complaint has been raised. All parties to such executive sessions shall have the right to the representative of their choosing, the right to present evidence, and the right to cross-examine the witnesses. The Board shall conduct the meeting(s) in a fair and just manner. Hearsay evidence shall be discounted by the Board in such proceedings. The Board has the right to request a disinterested third party to act as a hearing officer to help the Board reach a mutually satisfactory solution.
BOARD OF EDUCATION ACTION. The District’s Superintendent, or his or her designees, after the ranking process is completed, will submit his or her recommendations for layoff or recall to the Board of Education for action with certification that his or her recommendations were made consistent with the Layoff and Recall procedure. This Article is not subject to the grievance procedure.

  • Board of Education If the unit member and the Association are not satisfied with the decision at Stage 2, the Grievance Committee will file an appeal in writing with the Board of Education within fifteen (15) school days after receiving the decision at Stage 2.   • Union Education If the local union indicates to the Hospital that its members have approved a special assessment for union education in accordance with the CUPE constitution and local union by laws, the Hospital agrees to deduct this assessment. Such assessment will be paid on a quarterly basis into a trust fund established and administered by OCHU/CUPE for this purpose.

  • Paid Education Leave The Company agrees to pay into a special fund effective January 1st, 2013 and each year thereafter, two thousand ($2,000.00) for the purpose of providing Paid Education Leave. Said Paid Education Leave will be for the purpose of upgrading the Dependent Contractor’s skills in all aspects of trade union functions. Such monies will be paid into a trust fund established by the National Union, Unifor and sent by the Company to the following address: Unifor Education Leave Program c/o Unifor 000 Xxxxxx Xxxxx Xxxxxxx, XX X0X 0X0 The Company further agrees that members of the bargaining unit selected by the Union to attend such courses will be granted a Leave of Absence without pay for twenty (20) days class time, plus travel time where necessary, with said Leave of Absence to be intermittent over a twelve (12) month period from the first day of leave. Dependent Contractors on such leave will continue to accrue seniority and benefits during such leave.

  • Professional and Education Leaves (a) Leave of absence with pay or without pay may be granted to employees to attend professional and educational meetings, courses, or other events which may be judged beneficial to the employee's professional development, especially as it relates to her responsibilities with the Employer.

  • Trustee’s Good Faith Action, Expert Advice, No Bond or Surety The exercise by the Trustees of their powers hereunder shall be binding upon everyone interested in or dealing with the Trust. A Trustee shall be liable to the Trust and to any Shareholder solely for his or her own willful misfeasance, bad faith, gross negligence or reckless disregard of the duties involved in the conduct of the office of Trustee, and shall not be liable for errors of judgment or mistakes of fact or law. The Trustees may take advice of counsel or other experts with respect to the meaning and operation of this Declaration of Trust, and shall be under no liability for any act or omission in accordance with such advice nor for failing to follow such advice. The Trustees shall not be required to give any bond as such, nor any surety if a bond is required.

  • Health Promotion and Health Education Both parties to this Agreement recognize the value and importance of health promotion and health education programs. Such programs can assist employees and their dependents to maintain and enhance their health, and to make appropriate use of the health care system. To work toward these goals:

  • Employment Relations Education Leave Employment Relations Education Leave will be allowed in accordance with the Employment Relations Act.
