Broken Shifts. (i) Subject to the proviso hereto broken shifts shall not be worked. (ii) Provided that in emergency situations a broken shift may be worked by mutual agreement between the employer and the employee. All work performed in excess of a spread of nine hours shall be paid at the rate of double time.
