Work Shifts. Employees shall be scheduled to work on regular work shifts having regular starting and quitting times. Except for emergencies (see Section D), employees' work schedules shall not be changed without written notice to the employee at least five (5) working days prior to the date the change is to be effective. Work Shifts. The State will make a good faith effort to schedule an employee for the same shift during a work week. Supervisors may revise schedules and assign overtime as needed to meet the operating needs of the Department. Supervisors will make a good faith effort to consult with employees regarding the scheduling of their work shifts and work week.
Work Shifts. A work shift is defined as a regularly recurring day of work with a fixed starting and ending time exclusive of overtime work.
Work Shifts. Eight (8) consecutive hours of work shall constitute a work shift, Sunday through Saturday, or as past practices in scheduling have been accepted.
Work Shifts a. The starting times of work shifts will be governed by operational needs. Back-to-back part-time shifts will not be used to cover staffing needs that could otherwise be covered by a single full-time shift.
b. Relief shifts may be used to cover outages and will be included in the regular shift bid, as determined by local management, either:
(i) With regular days off and start times that remain consistent throughout bid period.
(ii) As open-lines that change on a monthly basis based on operational needs.
(A) Relief schedules will be provided to employees in a minimum of 30 day segments and will include a base or home shift.
(B) If relief line(s) are used to cover lines temporarily vacated by other employees, the relief line(s) will match the vacated bid line(s). (ie Vacation, Jury Duty, Illness LOA, etc.).
(C) If the relief lines are adjusted to accommodate a change to the operational need (ie flight schedule changes, call volume changes), relief shifts are not required to match current shift bid lines. Relief schedules will be reviewed with the Local Committee and Local management at least 5 days ahead of the relief posting, the Local committee will respond with any concerns within 48 hours.
Work Shifts. The Chief of Police shall establish, publish, and assign members to such work shifts as he may designate.
Work Shifts. All employees shall be scheduled to work on a regular work shift, which shall have regular starting and quitting times. Employees shall report to their assigned work locations ready to work at the start of their scheduled work shift.
Work Shifts. Section 6.1 The normal work schedule shall consist of five (5) consecutive workdays, Monday through Friday, followed by two (2) consecutive days of rest (Saturday and Sunday); except for those employees covered by this Agreement designated by the Employer who regularly work on Saturday and Sunday whose normal work schedule shall consist of five (5) consecutive work days plus two (2) consecutive days of rest which shall be treated as their Saturday and Sunday in that order.
Section 6.2 Each employee, where possible, shall be assigned with reasonable advance notice a definite shift with designated times of beginning and ending.
Section 6.3 The workweek shall begin at 12:01 a.m. Monday. Shifts shall be defined as follows:
Section 6.4 The first shift shall be an eight (8) hour and thirty (30) minute period which shall include a thirty (30) minute unpaid, uninterrupted meal period.
Section 6.5 The second and third shift shall be an eight (8) hour period which shall include a thirty (30) minute uninterrupted meal period. Employees, except those normally working past midnight, shall be compensated at their regular rate or overtime rate, if applicable, plus a premium of twenty-five cents ($.25) per hour for hours worked between midnight and 6 a.m.; provided that such hours are not scheduled hours. All Head Custodian I positions working a graveyard shift shall receive a shift premium of twenty-five cents ($.25) per hour for all hours worked between midnight and 6 a.m.
Section 6.5.1 When an employee is moved from one established shift to another (e.g. from first shift to second shift), the employee shall be given a minimum of seven (7) workdays’ advance written notice. If an employee receives less than seven (7) workdays’ notice, the employee will be compensated at the overtime rate for the number of days to be equivalent to the seven (7) work-day notice period.
Section 6.6 Each employee shall be given fifteen (15) minutes of rest for each four (4) consecutive hours of work, the time of starting each such rest period to be reasonably designated by the Employer.
Section 6.7 All hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours in any one (1) week shall be compensated at the overtime rate of one and one-half (1-1/2) times the rate on the applicable salary schedule. In addition, all hours worked in excess of eight (8) hours in any one (1) day, excepting bus drivers and/or employees working under a four/ten (4/10) hour day work schedule which has been mutually agreed to betwee...
Work Shifts. Regular work shifts for the purposes of shift premiums shall be as follows:
11.7.1 The first shift covers any work schedules that begin between 04:00 and 11:59 hours;
11.7.2 The second shift covers any work schedules that begin between 12:00 and 19:59 hours;
11.7.3 The third shift covers any work schedules that begin between 20:00 and 03:59.

Personnel shall continue to work the present fifty-six (56) hour schedule consisting of twenty-four (24) hour shifts. The cycle shall consist of 24 hours on, 48 hours off.
