Building Compassionate Neighbourhoods. We will encourage residents in the neighbourhoods we serve to participate in a “neighbourhood exchange” (using a community-wide electronic tool called Timebanks) make informal talents, skills, requests for help and offers of practical, emotional, and social help more visible to each other and to track our contribution. We will seek members within our neighbourhoods to help with the talent search process and use of the community-wide supporting technology. Over the pilot, our target is to have at least xxx of our members active within a Downtown neighbourhood TimeBanks. We will engage the talents in our neighbourhoods to use their creativity to connect with vulnerable people and to enrich our communities through music, art, video, stories, food and culture, nature, technology and intergenerational learning, as well as through service. We will encourage the families we serve to regularly initiate their own acts of kindness and acts of service to benefit our community and ensure that compassion is a normal part of our day to day experiences.

Building Compassionate Neighbourhoods. We agree to sponsor a “neighbourhood exchange” group for our centre (using a community- wide technology tool called HourWorld). We will encourage our members, along with their families and friends, to participate to make the talents, skills, requests for help and informal offers of practical, emotional, and social help amongst our members and families more visible to each other. We will recruit our own member coordinator/facilitator to lead our group exchange. Once we identify our coordinator, we will receive Hourworld training from the PMO. We will engage the talents of our members to use their creativity to connect with vulnerable people and each other and to enrich our communities through music, art, video, stories, food and culture, nature, technology and intergenerational learning, and fellowship. We will encourage our clients to regularly initiate their own acts of kindness and acts of service to benefit our community and ensure that compassion is a normal part of our day to day experiences.

We will support the WECCC campaign of making compassion part of the experience of every youth and student in Windsor-Essex county through our Supporting Kids and Families initiatives, recognizing that engaging kids in community service and acts of kindness improves their psychological health and well-being, increases their trust in community, and reduces their stress and isolation.

We will seek members within immigrant communities to lead the neighbourhood talent search process and manage the supporting technology. We will engage with existing Peer Support Educators to help establish culturally-specific TimeBanks in their own neighbourhoods.
