Common use of Call Back Allowance Clause in Contracts

Call Back Allowance. When an employee has left the premises after completion of the normal shift or after having discharged the special duties which the employee has agreed to perform for the Company and is called upon to return to the plant for emergency duties, prior to the time regularly scheduled to resume duties, the employee shall receive pay for a minimum of four (4) hours at the appropriate rate as provided under Article 17, Section 17.01. However, if the employee clocks in one hour prior to his/her regularly scheduled shift, the employee will continue to be at work and the one hour will not be considered additional for the purpose of payment in excess to the four (4) hours Call Back Allowance. Prior to leaving the plant the employee is required to be released by the Superintendent or designate.
