Common use of Cancellation of Assignment Clause in Contracts

Cancellation of Assignment. 5.3.6.1. When a substitute teacher has accepted employment to substitute for a teacher to attend a School Division organized event, such employment shall not be cancelled, without at least twenty-four (24) hours’ notice. 5.3.6.2. In the event that less than twenty-four (24) hours’ notice is provided, the substitute teacher shall be reassigned to other duties within the school.

If a teacher cancels without proper notice, they will be responsible for the substitute teacher cost. If twelve (12) hours’ notice is not provided, the substitute teacher shall may be reassigned to other duties within the school. Where a substitute is cancelled because of the cancelation of an event or School Division decision, the cost is borne by the School Division.

In If a teacher cancels without proper notice, they will be responsible for the event that less than twenty-four (24) substitute teacher cost. If 12 hours’ notice is not provided, the substitute teacher shall may be reassigned to other duties within the school. Where a substitute is cancelled because of the cancelation of an event or School Division decision, the cost is borne by the School Division.
