Commencement of Grid Rate. 5.2.1 Number of days to go on grid: When a substitute teacher has taught for more than four days consecutively in one position, the substitute shall be placed on the salary grid in accordance with the substitute teacher's years of training and experience, such placement to be effective from the fifth day of service in that position.

(1) day at the daily rate of 1/200 of the annual salary determined by article 3 of this Collective Agreement for the duration of such substitution.

5.2.2. The period of consecutive employment during the school year shall not be considered interrupted or non-consecutive, if a holiday, teachers’ convention, professional day, or such other system-regulated breaks interrupt the substitute teacher’s continuity in the classroom.
Commencement of Grid Rate. 5.2.1 Number of days to go on grid: Effective September 1, 2010, a substitute teacher who teaches three (3) or more consecutive days in the same teaching position shall be paid effective the fourth day and every consecutive day thereafter a daily rate equivalent to one two hundredth (1/200) of his/her placement on the salary schedule.
5.2.2 Effective September 1, 2017, the period of consecutive employment during the school year shall not be considered interrupted or non-consecutive, if a holiday, teachers’ convention, professional day or such other system-regulated breaks interrupt the substitute teacher’s continuity in the classroom.
Commencement of Grid Rate. 5.2.1 Substitute teachers employed for a period of two (2) consecutive teaching days or more, as a replacement for a specific teacher, shall be placed on the basic salary schedule, according to teacher qualifications and experience, on the second (2nd) and consecutive subsequent days in the same
Commencement of Grid Rate. 5.3.1 A substitute teacher / teacher on call, after teaching four (4) consecutive days for the same teacher, for the purposes of salary, shall be paid for the additional consecutive workdays taught according to their qualifications. Submission of years of teaching experience and certification shall be governed by articles 3.3 and 3.
Commencement of Grid Rate. 5.2.1 In the case of a substitute being employed more than five (5) consecutive instructional days in the same classroom, commencing on the sixth day and each day thereafter, the rate of pay shall be in accordance with training and experience as set forth in Article 3.2.

Commencement of Grid Rate. 5.2.1 Long term (four (4) days or more consecutive days of instruction) substitutes in Elk Island School Division shall be paid 1/200 of their grid salary beginning on the third day providing the assignment is for four (4) days or longer for the same teacher.
5.2.2 The period of consecutive employment during the school year shall not be considered interrupted or non-consecutive, if a holiday, teachers’ convention, professional day or such other system- regulated breaks interrupt the substitute teacher’s continuity in the classroom.

On the fourth and subsequent days in the same school where a substitute teacher continues to replace the same regular teacher, payment shall be made according to placement on the salary schedule.
5.2.1.1 In order for a substitute to qualify for payment as per clause 5.2.1, sufficient proof of qualifications will have to be supplied as per clauses 3.3 and 3.4 for proper placement on the salary grid.

Commencement of Grid Rate. 5.2.1. Rate of pay for a substitute teacher who fills the same teaching position for more than four (4) consecutive teaching days shall be paid one two-hundredth (1/200th) of their grid salary beginning on the fifth (5th) day.
