Candles/Holiday Lights. (A) Any open flame, including but not limited to candles that are either lit or unlit, is not permitted in the residential facilities. (B) Holiday lights are permitted in the residence halls, but may not be hung from the ceiling or from the walls within 6 inches of the ceiling. Lights or wires may not run under carpet, rugs, or mattresses. Lights may not be hung around doors (except for closet doors), in hallways, or in any way that may impede egress from an area if they should fall. All lights must be UL approved cool bulbs.
